PEGASUS IMAGING’S .NET AND ACTIVEX TOOLKITS ARE READY FOR VISTA® |
TAMPA, FL, JANUARY 31, 2007 – Pegasus Imaging Corporation, the leading provider of digital imaging technology, today announces the release of free Vista-compatible updates for its suite of .NET and ActiveX COM toolkits. Customers and evaluators can download the current version of the toolkits to obtain the updated SDKs. These updates enable customers transitioning to Vista to more easily install Pegasus Imaging toolkits within the confines of Vista User Account Control restrictions. The updates do not change the toolkits’ performance or functionality. The products’ revised installation logic enables developers using Vista to more easily access the rich sample portfolio included in Pegasus Imaging toolkits. The updated toolkits also remain fully compatible with prior versions of Windows. “As Microsoft updates its operating systems for increased security, it's gratifying to see that our many speed enhancements and other optimizations are completely supported in the new environments,” says Paul Firth, product manager for Pegasus Imaging. “Our existing components continue to be fully capable under Windows Vista, and customers can continue to deploy them by following the Microsoft application deployment rules already in place. The updates simply change our SDK installers to make our code samples more accessible to developers working within the stricter confines of Vista.” The introductory release of OCR Xpress™ v1 on January 17, 2007 was the first Pegasus Imaging product to contain the Vista installation modifications. Free updates are now available for ImagXpress™ v8, PDFXpress™ v1, SmartScan Xpress™ Barcode v4, FormSuite™ (including FormFix® v3, SmartZone™ v1, FormDirector™ v1, ScanFix® Xpress™ v5.1, and ImagXpress v8), ScanFix Xpress v5.1, ISIS Xpress™ v2 and SmartScan Xpress ICR/OCR/OMR v4.
