PEGASUS ADDS RED EYE REMOVAL TECHNOLOGY TO IMAGESASaP! |
| TAMPA, FL, December 18, 2001 – Pegasus Imaging Corporation, a leader in digital imaging technology, recently released its Red Eye Removal technology as an add on to ImagesASaP!, the advanced color image compression and manipulation tool based on Microsoft’s IIS and Active Server Pages (ASP). ImagesASaP! allows developers to acquire images from web browsers, and then process, resize, crop, store, and convert them, then returning optimized images and thumbnails directly within their Active Server Pages application. The Red Eye Removal add on allows developers to add advanced red eye removal technology to their applications. It performs a lossless crop around the eyes, decompresses only this area, allows the user to adjust for glare, darkness, and red face, removes the red eye, recompresses the area, and then puts the lossless image back in. “This technology is a great deal more advanced than what people are used to seeing,” says Chris Lubeck, VP of Development at Pegasus Imaging Corp. “It allows you to perform a lossless crop around the eyes, protecting the rest of the image from recompression damage.
